WWE Severed Ties With Legend Hulk Hogan After Use of “N” Word

Welp…WWE’S corporate office has officially cut all ties with the legendary Hulk Hogan. As most of us know, “The Hulkster” has been trying to mend a bridge with the WWE over the last five to six years and all was going well until late Thursday night.

The WWE has since severed pretty much all mentions of the hall of fame wrestler from their websites and online stores after a claim was made about an interview that leaked online where Hogan uses the word “N*gga” several times. Now, my opinion on this is exactly that, my opinion. But this doesn’t call for the exile of arguably the biggest name in pro wrestling’s history.

Here is what Hogan was quoted saying:

“Well, Booker T used to do that to me, and every time I pull up YouTube there’s that famous thing with Booker T and his brother is there and they’re all talking trash, and Booker T says, ‘I’m coming for ya Hogan, you nigger’—and not ‘nigga,’ he goes ‘nigger,’” Hogan told DJ Whoo Kid. Higan then explained how back in Miami it was pretty much just a normal thing by adding “And it’s still so cool, because the whole time I was down in Miami when I lived there, you know, everybody—I’d walk into the booth and all of a sudden I’d bump into this guy and The Game’s in the booth, it’s all black and he’s got his BlackBerry, and I bump into him and he goes, ‘What’s up, nigga?’ and I said, ‘Oh, excuse me, bro!’ And he says, ‘No, it’s all cool,’” said Hogan. He continued to add “And everybody down there—Lil Wayne, Birdman—they’re all calling me ‘nigga,’ and then I started sayin’ it. And I always said it, but now all of a sudden I get heat when I say it, and they say, ‘Hogan, you can’t say that,’ so I say, ‘Why can they say it to me then?’”.

I personally don’t find anything wrong with this interview, and I’m half black. But that’s just me, apparently WWE Corporate doesnt find this ok and according to a source “Hogan is no longer listed on the WWE Hall of Fame page, and all of his merchandise has also been removed from WWEShop.com. The only thing currently remaining that mentions Hogan involves WWE’s upcoming Australian tour, which Hogan was scheduled to take part in as general manager. However, when any attempt to access this page is made, a message appears stating “you are not authorized to access this page.””

This all seems a little bit harsh to me, and hypocritical but maybe this is just the cover for the real reason. Seeing how Vince McMahon himself has said the word “N*gga” on live television to John Cena before.I don’t see how this can be the reason Hogan is in trouble. My belief is the upcoming lawsuit Hogan is about to go to trial for with Gawker for the now infamous “Hulk Hogan Sex Tape” is the main reason for this punishment to be handed out.

We’ll see how this all unfolds in the coming days or weeks, but as of right now, Hulk Hogan is back to being an unmentionable in the WWE and that is NOT “best for business”.

Sean Feral
Sean is pretty much “the bad guy”(metaphorically not negatively)…Sean was dubbed a “natural heel” by a handful of pro wrestlers about 8 years ago and Sean has embraced that role ever since. While covering the sports entertainment industry, Sean has met and interviewed many in the business and still loves the business now as much as he did as a kid. While most kids were cheering for the XMen, Sean rooted for guys like Apocalypse and Magneto. When everyone rooted for Hulk Hogan, Sean was rooting for the Iron Sheik. When you ask him “Why do you like the villain so much?” Sean always gives this answer, “The villain always tells a better story. Without their substance, there is little need for heroes.” Other than his love for villains, Sean is an overall sports dork and watches literally everything from WWE to Olympic curling to the NFL. Sean also loves humor, especially when it’s dark, well thought out, and witty.
