WWE Money In the Bank 2015 Preview

WWE Money In the Bank 2015 Preview

WWE’s Money In the Bank 2015 is set to happen on June 14th, 2015 and I must say, with the way WWE has been going since WrestleMania 31, this year is only going to get better. After a solid Payback pay-per-view and the amazing return of the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, I’m expecting Money In the Bank 2015 to exceed both of those in terms of entertainment and ring performance. Let’s take a look at the matches for the company’s annual briefcase centered show that almost guarantees who will be the next WWE world heavyweight champion.

Ladder Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs Dean Ambrose

There’s three things that make this match epic. 1. It’s for the most coveted prize in the company. 2. It’s a ladder match, one of pro wrestling’s most exciting concepts. And 3. Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose, every time these two face off it is an instant classic. Ambrose seemed to have had the title won at Elimination Chamber, but the decision was reversed to a DQ because of the cunning and witty Rollins. Ambrose then took the belt for himself, irking Rollins just enough to accept a ladder match for the title. The problem for Ambrose is, in a ladder match, there is no DQ and the Authority is sure to get involved to help Rollins retain his title by any means necessary. But in Ambrose’s defense, “any means necessary” is exactly what the “Lunatic Fringe” wants to employ as his own game plan.

My Prediction: Rollins retains the title and ends this feud, which will lead to a Rollins vs Lesnar SummerSlam build.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton vs Sheamus vs Neville vs Dolph Ziggler vs Kane vs Kofi Kingston

Now we are unsure if WWE will add an 8th man into the ladder match or if they will go with the 7 currently announced, but what we do know is Neville in his first WWE ladder match with guys like Ziggler and Kofi will leave us in awe. If Neville hits the Red Arrow off the ladder the arena will surely erupt. Mix in the methodical style of Orton with the brutes of Kane, Sheamus, and Reigns and this match will have everything.

My Prediction: Roman Reigns will win the briefcase. After his monster push into WrestleMania 31 this year then WWE getting cold feet at the last second and putting the title on Rollins instead, I feel this is the smartest move they can make. With Reigns holding the briefcase the WWE will have 12 months to pull the trigger on putting the title on him. With the way Reigns is improving now, 12 months will be more than enough time for him to see his first title run in the company.

John Cena vs Kevin Owens

What can I say? I DETEST John Cena as a character. Now, outside of that? There’s a reason he is the #1 guy in the business today; from a company standpoint, Cena is unrivaled. But guess what? This is also wrestling, and Kevin Owens plain and simple is leaps and bounds better at it than John Cena. Their match at Elimination Chamber got a rare 5* rating from me, that match was match of the year for 2015 and arguably the best one on one match in the last 5 years. This is also the rare match containing a moment in time and space where God ripped a fart and caused a paradox that let John Cena lose a match cleanly.

My Prediction: Owens has been cemented as a dominant heel. He’s also one of few men to ever beat Cena cleanly. I’m expecting Cena to win this match though, if he puts Owens over again? The fabric of space and time may rip.

WWE Tag Team Championship
New Day (c) vs Primetime players

Now everyone who follows me on Twitter (@Chaos_Draco) knows that I refuse to speak of the tag team champions. I no longer acknowledge their gimmick and only their wrestling ability because it’s uppity and typical old school WWE racial stereotyping and that is what makes this awful thing work. On that note…the Primetime Players on the other hand had a strong showing in the tag team title Elimination Chamber match. Then they earned number one contender status in a triple threat match on SmackDown which leads to this match.

My Prediction: New Day will retain using their typical “Freebird Rule” advantage, but don’t get me wrong, both teams will definitely put on a very solid match.

WWE Divas championship
Nikki Bella (c) vs Paige

Well we all know how we feel about the Divas division…it’s essentially just eye candy and a bathroom break during the show. But…Paige and Nikki Bella are more than capable of putting on a very solid match if they’re given the time and proper booking to perform. Paige will probably be the best Diva the WWE has ever had when it’s all said and done with her career. But I honestly feel that the WWE won’t put the belt on her again quite yet.

My Prediction: Nikki Bella retains…either by DQ or interference from her sister Brie. I honestly believe that with the way AJ Lee left the company, that Nikki Bella will become the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history. Don’t worry Paige fans our “Glampire” will have her time again.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Ryback (c) vs Big Show

Now, we all know the WWE dropped the ball with Ryback a few years back when Cena should’ve put over “the Big Guy” and didn’t. This killed all of Ryback’s momentum as a main eventer. This IC title run could prove to be what Ryback needs to get back on track as he’s been in a limbo state lately. The guy is incredibly over with the WWE Universe and this feud with Big Show is going to be your typical Big Show feud. Big Show is a giant, slaying a giant makes you look stronger in the fan’s eyes. Ryback is winning this match, no doubt about it.

My Prediction: Ryback hits a massive Shell Shock on the Big Show in what is going to be a boring match of two brutes to retain his championship and continue his push.

Be sure to tune in to Money In The Bank 2015 Sunday, June, 14th on the WWE Network, which is free for the entire month of June for new subscribers.

Sean Feral
Sean is pretty much “the bad guy”(metaphorically not negatively)…Sean was dubbed a “natural heel” by a handful of pro wrestlers about 8 years ago and Sean has embraced that role ever since. While covering the sports entertainment industry, Sean has met and interviewed many in the business and still loves the business now as much as he did as a kid. While most kids were cheering for the XMen, Sean rooted for guys like Apocalypse and Magneto. When everyone rooted for Hulk Hogan, Sean was rooting for the Iron Sheik. When you ask him “Why do you like the villain so much?” Sean always gives this answer, “The villain always tells a better story. Without their substance, there is little need for heroes.” Other than his love for villains, Sean is an overall sports dork and watches literally everything from WWE to Olympic curling to the NFL. Sean also loves humor, especially when it’s dark, well thought out, and witty.
